graziella debattista
Mezzo soprano Graziella Debattista commenced her vocal studies at the age of eighth under the tuition of mezzo-soprano Beatrice Brokdorf. At the age of fifteen Graziella joined the Malta opera company under the direction of the soprano Alice Horne.
In 2002 Graziella marked her opera debut as a soloist in the opera Hansel and Gretel interpreting the part of the night fairy. In the following years she sang extracts from Aida and Carmen at the British high Commissioner and at the Russian cultural centre.
In 2006 Graziella joined the Collegium Musicum under the direction Of Prof. Mro. Dion Buhagiar and sang in various concerts held at co-cathedral on different occasions. In 2007 Graziella attended a summer musicianship course organised by the British Kodaly .Academy.
The following year Graziella followed a one year course at the “Conservatorio Vincenzo Bellini di Palermo”. She also had some intensive voice training with the soprano Elisabeth Smith. There is where she was chosen to sing in two concerts in the city of Agrigento under the direction of Mro Filippo Ragusa where she sang extracts from Il Trovatore, Carmen and also some traditional Italian songs. Graziella continued to sing in many other concerts both in Malta and also abroad including London and Palermo.
In 2011 Graziella Completed her first degree at the university of Malta graduating with a Ba (hons) Music in performance majoring in voice under the tuition of Mezzo soprano Claire Massa where she sang in various occasions and concerts organised by the university of Malta and the APS bank . Graziella took also lessons from the international renowned soprano Miriam Gauci. Graziella is currently perfectioning her vocal technique with the well renowned soprano and resident music director at the Manoel Theatre Ms Juliette Bisazza.
